I definitely think you might be on to something, man. Certainly seems legit to me.

That is a fantastic find honestly. Didn't believe it could get any closer than Harold Alexander, but here we are.

While I'm pretty sure they used him as inspiration, I doubt that it's the man himself for a few reasons:
- Carton de Wiart's highest achieved rank was Lieutenant General, which according to Wiki is still less than 'full' General (of course Alexander, as Field Marshal, would probably be over-ranked compared to AG). Reading closer, there are a few times where he was temporarily a Major General, but I'm not sure if that would count in the grand scheme of things.
- Carton de Wiart fought primarily in WW1. Sure, he was active in WW2, but that was primarily as an advisor and for diplomatic missions. He even said he was "too old to command a division on active duty" while in North Ireland, which seems to be in 1940.

great work guys, the riddle is solved for me, chances are near 100% imo :-) sorry kardas, the arguments are interesting but not rising too much doubts in me. i bet they didn't study history before creating the character, so it would fit even if some details in his biography are nor plausible...

To me (If it happens to be him) he definitely deserve to have the highest HP of any playable ally loll
