Calculating talisman set bonuses?

When calculating talisman set bonuses, do you use the base stat (ATK, MAGIC, HP, etc) or the combined value of the stat bonus plus the normal talisman bonus?

For example, suppose your toon has a DEF of 500 and you give it a pair of Iron (Fierce) Talismans which give a standard bonus of +100 DEF each. Does the 15% DEF bonus from the 2-talisman set get based on the base DEF of 500 or the DEF of 500 + 2x100?

It is only based of basic stats, before any talisman stats are added.
