Just a little question about sentinel class' Stat

There is something bugging me about the damage dealt by sentinel class characters, I don't understand if it is based ONLY on max HP or Attack/Magic also contribuites a bit (normally those Stat are way lower compared to a Magus or a Warrior).

Damage increases with attack for physical damage, with magic for magical damage and with both attack and magic for true damage. When it says that damage increases with Max HP or defense or something like that, it means it also depends on that stat, not that it only depends on that stat.
