Game Freeze/Champion Trooper Use Coincidence?

I have been having a ton of game freezes while in battle since patch it seems. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but, 90+% of the time I'll exit the game, restart, and I've gained trooper badges from someone who recently used my champion/captain. Anyone else experiencing this same phenomenon or is this isolated case.

You are not the only one.
When i was able to login (before Rift forced update) many times after crash got message about gained badges.
I was thinking it was coincidence but who really knows that.
