I used Cosmic Cyborg Eddie with Ragnaroks and his Cosmic, Osiris with Libra, Virgo, and the Desert Deity Talisman, Wrathchild with Navigation, Sacred, and Blight talismans, and Baroness Redan with the Crimean Imperial Cosmic and Yggdrasil. It goes very, very slowly, but you'll get there eventually.

Do you really need the paltry rewards for insanity achievement?

Not at all but it's a challenge to improve understanding.
