My first Maiden album was NPFTD when it came out. I was 12 browsing the Tower Records (remember that chain?!) racks when I glanced at the cover artwork for this album and I immediately had to have it. I loved the album right away and quickly proceeded to get the entire back catalog. I still contend that NPFTD is the best 90's Maiden album. I know that may not be saying much but I remember way back in the early days of the Maiden BB when Bruce rejoined that it was a very unpopular opinion as many preferred TXF or FOTD over NPFTD.

Yeah, that album doesn't historically get much love...

Completely agree. The album was love at first sound for me, and I have even got my wife and kids to like Maiden because of this album. FOTD will forever have a soft spot in my heart.

    Cheers mate, good thread!

Flight 666 Original Soundtrack, A Matter of Life and Death, and the Somewhere Back in Time compilation. All borrowed from a buddy.

My first Iron maiden Album was " Killers" it was 1988 and I was 11 yrs old...I was captured and scared by that monster on the front cover...and I wanted it,
Plus my bestie of the time was making me a big head about the " most powerful sound ever", heavy metal so I got curious to hear that.
Since that day my life changed as I listened no other music than heavy metal, few weeks later I bought the new realease of the band " seventh son of a seventh son" and I got totally conquered.....
The clairvoyant took my mind and breath and gave me emotions few other songs can give me.....( it is still my fav song...so happy I got her character from yesterday's drop) .
Then i just wanted to colect them all...I saw them live few times and I got the luck to meet Janick on the road when I was a teenager and get his autograph.
Now....I got a newborn son....and he loves to be cuddled and fall asleep to Maiden songs lol
That love started when i was 11, will never end...and I hope will go on with my next generation!

    UP THE IRONS!!!

No doubt and I'm pretty pumped to get that one, FOTD and TXF on vinyl this Friday.

@FallenAngel Congrats on pulling The Clairvoyant! It cost me nearly every Iron Coin I had, but I was delighted to pull her from the Eternity soul too! On the Maiden for babies tip: did you know that there are a bunch of Maiden (and metal, in general) lullabys out there? Easy to find on Youtube... I found a bunch, but this one, with its vid, seemed exactly crazy enough to share.

@Rodrigo Vinyl collector, huh? Right on, man! \m/

@DankBrew Jamie Thomas? Sad to say, but I got nuthin'. lol

My first time hearing Maiden was with a friend, and it was Live After Death. From the first verse of Aces High I was blown away and completely hooked. I went out and grabbed every album I could afford at the time, which was two - Powerslave and Piece Of Mind. Every other album followed soon thereafter.

In an awesome relative case, my youngest son (now 10) got hooked when he found my old Number of the Beast record and threw it on. He has all my old Maiden posters (which are roughly 25 years old!) hanging in his room now. He has since decided to take guitar lessons for one purpose - to play Maiden songs, specifically The Trooper. My other son (11) is huge into the Brave New World album, hooked on Wickerman and Blood Brothers (thanks to legacy).

Now we play the albums, and all sit around playing Legacy, pumped up about who we're unlocking, etc. It would be really great if you could challenge Troopers in the PVP, something to consider down the road?

That's awesome! I see some of my troopers in my attack list pretty often, but I agree it would be cool to directly challenge them. But definitely keep an eye out for them lol
