“Coming Home” Battle Arena Event This Weekend!

Since the last post was mine, i just want to make myself more clear in case if i have sounded like whining (actually i am not)

No worries, Osiris. You weren't one of the people who were attacking the devs. I threw in that little portion about how most of the negative nancies had low post counts to show that I wasn't thinking of many of our veteran players here who are all awesome people.


The point of the rant - let's appreciate what can be done. I have a feeling we're getting more from the devs than we have a right to expect. The rewards are coming. I'm confident that as soon as they've been able to check over as many instances as possible to ensure that no one gets screwed over (that's called QA) then we will get what we've earned. I haven't seen any instances of them NOT making good on things; I've seen them reach out to members with issues and (I presume) make things right on several occasions. I'm super pumped to see what I get from the rewards, like you. If those rewards come tonight, tomorrow or later in the week, I'm good with that.

That would be cool for the people that didn't speak up instantly about it like me even when it worked to my advantage. Integrity in competition is key, even amidst the bugs last week.

Not anything that interesting, no. Basically, the part of our servers where we track the data for leaderboard information (ie wins, losses, etc) and the part of our servers where the store information is utilized (for getting the event rewards, among other things) don't directly talk to each other, and even though we've done the process of exporting data and revising it so that we can hook up the right reward tiers for the right players, an important step (which requires coordination with a party outside our office) has hit a snag, so it's just taking longer to go through the whole process that lets everyone claim their reward tiers in the PVP shop.

Apparently it was further complicated by ensuring people didn't get counted as the tier from the last PVP event we did, too. Something we're going to investigate more thoroughly once rewards are out to ensure we communicate a better timeline for future events (and/or find ways to be able to turn this around quicker).

Thanks for the response, interesting stuff. Yeah I understand having to build out objects/services and such that talk to each other, can be a big pain in the ass if the code base isn't designed around maintainability/enhancement. Where did it say that throwing matches wasn't allowed? An event where you get equal credit for wins/losses with the goal of a very large number of matches encourages throwing matches. The point is for you to spend ironite and therefore for many people that means spending cash. If the devs didnt want people to throw matches they would have said that. You can't punish someone for breaking a rule that doesn't exist. I understand the issue is that throwing a bunch of matches to a single player artificially inflates their ranking, but that's a problem with the code that could be easily fixed by limiting the amount of defensive points you can get from a single player, and that's an obvious problem that should have been anticipated.

Oh man, I'm gonna love the essence these things will contribute to my next Vortex fill. ;) Pulled a dupe Nomad, my first ever PDK, a dupe SSD, and 2 new Magus COTDs (who knew those things came as twins on your first batch?). 4 Skill Shards off of max Wrath, debating whether to do it or not. Waiting for Trooper points and buying the weekly shard from the store doesn't seem like my cup of tea. Plus, I wanna start saving Iron Coins for the 20 Eternity shards. Then again, I could take a break for a year before Night City and Brave New World come out.

Also, what happen when you fight Wrath in the story if you have Wrath as an add and then activate Eternity Eddie's Fury?

There's nothing definite planned out for how such a feature would look or when it'll arrive, but we know one of the major features we're going to work eventually on will involve using multiple Eddies in a competitive format. Additionally, we will add more challenging single player content (such as Brave New World, but other stuff after that will challenge you in other ways), so multiple Eddies can help there (and some people have done creative strategies utilizing multiple of the same Eddie to effectively have more health to work with).

Ever grateful for this event. Even with the delays in the system, rewards went out on deadline! Great job devs!

Opened the accommodations to the 500 rewards to earn 2 Angels of Pain, a multitude of Harpy flavours, and some others. Popped the Eternity soul... and BAM! Clairvoyant. This has been just amazing. Thank you devs, and good job to every other participant, too. Up the irons!

It's interesting because of how hard the Devi work and much their works stand out, for this event I was one who made it to getting 500 battles, having enough fragments to buy my eternal soul, there itch my very good friend Scone or Misterely I pulled a eternity Eddie and my friend pulled a claravoyant, very happy with the Devi for their hard work and keep doing what your doing, your all amazing in your own way

Well I got some pretty good stuff I would say from this event. From my legendary I got a FOTD eddie didn't have him yet and he looks pretty cool. Anyone know if he is useful at all I don't see him too often?

I also got a Assassin Troll 4* from my G/A already had one so he's going to the sacrifice bin. Also got an Assassin Newborn of Light really cool I might invest into him but don't know if he is better than the warrior one or nah? Anyone got advice for that as well? Other than that just usual dupe crap that I need to get rid of in my regular souls and G/A souls.

So I'm not complaining nice pull and got a lot of eternity fragments so that's nice too. :cool:

So I got Wrath from my first Immortal Soul, is he worth sharding? Rest were all dupes 3* and a green bat. The skillshards are nice ;-)

On to collect fragments for my Eternity Eddie or Clairvoyant :-) by the way Immortal souls should not result in dupes... too long and costly to get.

So from the graphic standpoint, no, it wasn't supposed to *also* include the previous tiers (i.e. 4 legendary souls in total). On Sparton's initial post, it outlines the tier prizes as including all previous tier prizes... read it and you'll see it shows the extras you get in each new tier. Two different ways of presenting the information, but it all adds up to the same thing.

I can't speak for how you're reading that, but I reached tier 7, and got exactly what it says there. The rewards don't compound... if you reach tier 7 you don't get tier 1 rewards 7 times, and tier 2 rewards 6 times, etc. You get the rewards for that tier, plus the individual rewards for every prior tier. The graphic posted here http://ironmaidenlegacy.com/the-coming-home-battle-arena-event/ demonstrates the "total" rewards you get if you reach each tier. If you compare to that img you posted, you'll see that it comes out to the same thing as long as you're not compounding the rewards.

I can't speak for how you're reading that, but I reached tier 7, and got exactly what it says there. The rewards don't compound... if you reach tier 7 you don't get tier 1 rewards 7 times, and tier 2 rewards 6 times, etc. You get the rewards for that tier, plus the individual rewards for every prior tier. The graphic posted here http://ironmaidenlegacy.com/the-coming-home-battle-arena-event/ demonstrates the "total" rewards you get if you reach each tier. If you compare to that img you posted, you'll see that it comes out to the same thing as long as you're not compounding the rewards.

It never says so on the picture with rewards, only on the text format. On the picture it is clear what you get at each tier, in text format you just need to add the tier reward written to the previous tiers.

It is pretty clear what to expect.

Leg soul gave me yellow GS. From G/A souls 6x *** crap, no GCR unfortunately, from coloured and rare souls in total 16x *** trash.

After over 80 hours of teeth crunching waiting I finally got my reward for level 5 arena achievment. Dropped eternity soul first and got ... drum-roll ... Wrath. Great! Immediately pushed him to Lv.100, full skills, maxed talisman, made him my champion and have to say it's great fun to play with. Am excited what I get for legendary and G/A souls. Thx again for the great event \m/

no news for the so bad rewards on new area?
my today reward on the "hardest" 12 is : 1 freezing sorcery and 1 death shield useless talisman :eek:.... need a good update and no skill shard since a long time ago now ( only first week was good for that, now old area was so better :( )

I still play it for the random 25 Ironites drops. Got it a couple times last week
