Thanks for the info; it might be that talisman augments don't account for the passive or something.
Yeah, the matchmaking tuning seems to have exacerbated the amount of attacks some people would get relative to others, but we were able to pinpoint why that happened and will have a fix in an upcoming update.
How sweet it is to have a nice win streak snapped by taking out the last toon standing on the other team, only to trigger an APMA3 crash.
And by "sweet" I mean: how lame.
Just in case the sarcasm didn't translate in the post.
Any fix for this particularly frustrating crash that seems to be going around? Sure would be nice...
Hey Sparton, I've noticed that when using an android emulator, MEmu, on my PC to play LOTB that even after server reset at 5pm PST, the LOL dungeons will be locked until it hits 12:01am on the next day. This started routinely happening with the latest update (although I believe it also occasionally happened before) and it has been a bit of an inconvenience as it makes me have to use my phone for farming LOL, thus beating the point of having an emulator to avoid doing exactly that in the first place. Anybody else experiencing this as well?
The emulator I use mimics a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F, so I'm wondering if the players who have that phone are experiencing this issue on their phones as well, or if it's just an emulator-based problem.
Just a question about vision eddie: he can remove all beneficial effects, shields and talismants effects even immunity ?? The other characters habilities are blocked by immunity... (viking's loot, assassin corrupt rescuer power move, prisoner's passive, etc...) Is there a bug or is it intentional ? how is that supposed to work please ?
In my opinion, any offensive habilities should overclass all the defensive ones
That whole PVP shit is getting more and more ridicioulus with every day.
Bugs? Not sure if all those weired things are bugs, it simply brings more money to NF.
As long as here enough players that continue spending money in this game, there will be no changes.
And I wonder why nobody is upset, that they are fucking up the probabilties, just to make more money.
I only will play till the next downgrade, if no real fixes will come, I am done with this game like many others...
Good question. I think by now nobody knows anymore what is intended and what is a bug. Afaik Prisoner's passive block should not trigger with immunity up ... the devs knew about it and released the update anyway making the Gimp stronger than before.
Talismans also don't trigger when the Prisoner's passive block is up (at least in the first round)
i wish they would simply disable pvp or at least that ridculous ranking until it's out of its alpha phase. there are way to many things that are 100% bugs, many things nobody knows if wai and still too many things that are ... uhm ... not very good by design. nerfing "OP" toons just to replace them for even moar OP ones wasn't also really smart.
Bugs are expectable but if it gets unplayable, and it is unplayable right now, it goes a bit to far.
On the other hand i think it's too early to bring the torches and forks. I still hope they get some real fixes and improvemens in the next update.
A little compensation for all the skillshards (and time and/or money) wasted on broken or obsolete toons wouldn't be a bad idea
two more bugs:
1. please check invisibility talismans, i'm sure they multiproc, tested it several times with multihitters (gunner golden son) and they virtually always triggered.
2. assassin troll didn't steale beneficials from an character with immunity on. not sure if that's intended or a bug.
one suggestion:
a friend if mine suggested some accuracy down passives for some chars. i was really enthusiastic about the idea, because this would finally bring more of the balance
i was searching for so long. this would make tauntfest, freezefest, takefest much bettter, since there is a counter. right now there is no real counter for take, if you get unlucky same for death dog.
as said before some characters are really out of balance now, purple cotd or nomad do insane amount of damage. if paired with a redbat it's simply out of the world. please check that...
Did you forget the PRISONER is still op even with this update. While other characters like the NOMAD just got a additional buff added to them for utility reasons . Since you hardly ever see him in the arena as it is. I see the Prisoner in almost ever defense along with angel of fear. Yet you hardly ever see the Nomad.
Why?..
Because he is no real threat especially if you have healers and toons that can cast endurance. Unlike the prisoner who can stun, disable all enemies passive, and deal a great amount of damage with no real counters.
BTW you can get a better deal at using the prisoner and angel of fear together over the nomad...
Just had a fight vs Carlos team, Visions, AoF, Nomad and SSD. Really heavy hit team. Unfortunately for me he started and Visions removed my toons immunity, after that you can imagine what happened, even when I was using the Prisoner. AoF passive was activated twice, one when me first toon died and another when the Prisoner died, that is a bug. So his team had 4 consecutive turns.
Who won? *scnr* ... the bugs are ridiculous I had AoF triggering his passive out of the blue a few times. There was no Endure on my side or any of that stuff that let's the golden skull appear prematurely.
But
if toon !FallenOver then do not trigger passive
or
if overToonHead == Immunty then no red debuff allowed
seems to be a very diffcult task.
Blue CR not stealing with Immunity either - and assume same with Viking.
Purple CotD defines Glass cannon. He can be taken down with one or two hits - he only has 11K hit points with his big damage build.
I'm glad they're buffing some of these toons. OP? It's relative. Green was the name of the game for so long because maximum HP was the key to survival on defense. I'd never use a Nomad, Purple CotD, etc. Now I think a little harder and if I see a Nomad may bring a blue toon - something I never did before...
I'm starting to see Nomads in defense which is cool. Some Blue CR too. Still not seeing CotD - red or purple - though I use mine on offense selectively for fun. Much too fragile for a defense.
VE is the new Mummy - anyone who has him is using him for obvious reasons. There's no real defense.
We also have to ask ourselves - what IS a target win percentage? Does one have a right to gripe about any toon if they're winning 90%+ of the time? Rhetorical question.
As always Slauki - your posts are well thought out and I appreciate your quest for balance. But I still maintain the only real "game changer" in this update (bugs not withstanding) was Visions Eddie
Viking definitely cannot loot from toon with Immunity on ... did before now doesn't ... nowadays only loots one positive effect (bug? don't know) ... does also not loot when Prisoner's passive is on him.
Gunner CR is behaving stubborn as well. Whenever you try to steal or loot her Shield for the first time she gets it back straight away. From 2nd steal / loot on it works fine. If you take on a GCR team you might want to think that far ahead -> 1st steal not working so time this one well.
Visions really is the new Mummy with the exception that he is quite elusive. I don't have Prisoner or Visions and with the bugs I need to do more cherry picking than ever.
sorry but i have to disagree here. i said for months that prisoner was OP, but now with the immunity talismans and the changes to his passives, he is just a very powerfull toon, but not OP anymore if you ask me.
well i agree that visions is the real game changer and i also like to see new toons in the arena. but i just feels that dealing true damage for 15 k and 11k aoe + vanishing some guys it a little to powerfull imo. yeah the green dominance is broken, but: what is the real alternative against the uber hitters? blues are too squichy so as assassin and purple and red.
so the heavy hitter won't have a hard time to take them down even with shells. yeah there might be creative ways to go, if you have the toons, but basicly it's too much if you compare it with other premium characters. we might agree to disagree here, but i would reduce the damage scaling of nomad or at least remove his attack up, something like that :-) regarding the purple cotd, yes he deserves to be good as any 5* cannot talk too much about him, since i only had the possibility to play him a few times, so you might be right here. i just feel that everything above 10-12k damage is too much for most of the toons. especially on offense, when you can take control of the toons. question again, what is the real counter to those strategies? a blue tank would be, but haven't seen him yet...
valid argument...i wonder why they took the talismans out before BNW was released...since they are a must have at the current state of pvp everyone who doesn't have them is basicly screwed...
lets pray for a quick release of BNW, but i have my doubts tbh... at least some kind of easter level or easter even would be nice, almost every game has that...
Just after the release of the Visions I got one and fully sharded him, I think that only me and Enti had the feeling about the Visions potential and now hes finally released!
I ran some test with Visions in attack and I need to say, hes now a 5*. But I have some considerations:
- He has no damage, really, no damage at all;
- His take works pretty fine, avarage removing beneficial effects from 2 targets (RNG hates me so today I removed a maximum of 2, avarage 1 - 0);
- Hes a good tank specially combined with shell talis;
- His AI is improved compared to other Eddies but is not that smart, just a step foward from other Eddies.
Final thoughts: Visions is a very good support, since he has no damage. Hes good (not excelent) in the role he plays.
Imho, there are some dif ways to counter teams with Visions, including Carlos teams (that is awesome btw) and I face no trouble fighting then. Just like Nicko said, the mages have room after this update (and I fully agree with it).
Cheers
Edit: Im just getting mad with crashes...
Another bug I noticed:
Death dog's primary attack effect on skill description says blablabla "Chance to get 100% critical strike chance". Well apparently the game decided there is an extra couple % chance as it does not crit every time xD
I got Vision Eddie months ago (my first 5* character) and i never used it because he does no damages at all... he really sucks in pve ! Since the update he becomes very usefull in pvp... i will see how it works in defense...
I don't think to spend any skillshards for him, he is powerfull just for removing beneficial effects, and let the rest of your team doing the job ;)
He was my very first 5* character too back in mid-July or early August and was really disappointed to see he hits less than a 3*. But then I discovered that I can beat the shit out of the beast with his take skill as it will remove that annoying yellow buff for sure in 2 rounds and then goodbye, hehe
I was really happy to see him become meaningful after almost a year. Finally, worthy for 5* league
I'm with AngelKelly about prisoner being OP. Every battle I've fought against him in pvp none of my beneficial talisman effects work if my character has the red X. Tested with freezing, paralysis, energy, invisibilty, void shields. Abilty effects still seem to work as advertise.
When I pull a list with mostly prisoner teams, I know my win ratio is going to take a huge hit. He's even red x'ed my team when he's down and out.
I'm out of the office sick today, but I'll make a note to check back with our CS team to see if that's been reported by anyone else. First time I've heard of it at least.
However, while we don't condemn the use of emulators, I don't think we officially support them either. There's so many more things that can go wrong with them that we cannot with any certainty ensure the game will cleanly run on variations of those too.
"Removing beneficial effects" and "stealing beneficial effects" are not a status effects, so Immunity should not protect against it. Situations contrary to that are bugs (we know of some weirdness that can happen with Viking Eddie's Loot, for example; slauki's report of the Assassin Troll being another example).
There's a general issue where talisman augments that trigger status effects for yourself can check to proc multiple times. Because it's not a data issue with the talisman itself, it's not something I can quickly fix, but it is a known issue we hope to get a programmer on soon.
Yeah, I've been wondering how we could make Accuracy Down something that is applicable in new situations; even without relying on passives, they work fairly well if and when you can get the jump on troublesome enemies. While it may not have the potent effect you're describing right now, we do have some new stuff coming that may allow you to do something along those lines in the near-ish future.
I think most people would agree with you there (that's kinda been my thoughts as well), but we've had people explore new high-success rate strategies, and even you yourself have tried some new characters on offense, so as long as new stuff is explored, I'd say that's positive in it's own right.
(But yes, bugs notwithstanding. A major focus of the impending update is fixing some of those bugs at least.)
I agree. While the changes really beefed up some characters - it made them true 4 and 5* and usable in PvP - and that's only a good thing.
I go back to the question I asked Slauki before - what is a good target offensive percentage? And even defensive percentage.
We're supposed to lose here and there. So as long as there's not a character - or a strategy ( like my defense with the multi-proc freeze and thief talismans in beta) that is skewing things too far, I'm all for making some of these characters stars.
Not to mention slicing a SSD or Pharaoh Eddie with a Nomad is just plain fun...
By all means, emulators should not be your first priority. I completely understand there. Thank you for your response on the matter!
I agree with the second part I quoted as well! I've tried a fun new defense with my Cyborg that I would not have been able to effectively use before the most recent update ─ and this is my most effective defense yet! When the Prisoner bugs get ironed out, it will only make even more fun combos viable when the immunity talis work against the gimp.
Yeah, I've seen more people using Nomads and assassin/warrior COTDs after this update. They're incredibly high risk/reward toons to use as they're toast if you go first, but they can wipe you out if you go second. Makes me want a warrior troll even more!
since it got ignored, i'll give you my own mustard (yay denglisch :)):Code:I go back to the question I asked Slauki before - what is a good target offensive percentage? And even defensive percentage.
My offensive percentage would be n ear 100%, my defense 0%. i'm not using anything special as offense. No visions/Prisoner/nomad/blue freeze machine, no stunner/freezer/blinder, no bat/troll, no cherrypicking. I used to get defense points by users who crashed. I also only loose if speed issues kick in + i lost two games to a grim reaper who killed one toon, turned one red while prisoner killed that poor red guy and red bat triggered an extra turn. and i'm totally fine with that as long as there is some diversity - which you'll only find in lower ranks.
because of "match making" and "AI" i loose more than double the points i'm able to get and on the lower ranks my defense went up to 13%
i don't know what a "good" target percentage would be, but it is no way >90%/<20%
Hey Sparton,
I ask again: why are you manipulating the probability and how strong?
That you are manipulating them is pretty clear.
okay, i have gathered a stong indicator for the OPness of Visions Eddie
current top 10 players
1. Enti (Visions on defense)
2. Nicko (Visions on defense)
3. Bradata (assuming Visions on defense since he has the talismans for it but don't know it for sure )
4. Gmac (Visions on defense)
5. Donslauki (Visions on defense)
6. Kamuz (Visions on defense)
7. Ringe (No Visions Eddie but he would use him, since i asked my belgrade buddy, but unfortunatly he doesn't have one)
8. Jofer (Visuins on defense)
9. Silentknight (assuming Visions on defense since he has the talismans for it, but don't know it for sure )
10.Homemlivre (Visions on defense)
Nothing more to say i think, everyone who thinks visions is in order is clearly wrong IMO.... the new mummy is born and he is killing the game again, since he is almost impossible to counter, if enemy goes first and visions acts early.
Some Ways to bring in more balance in:
1. Drasticly reduce take %
2. Let him remove ONE random buff aoe 50% of the time
3. Let him remove beneficials up to 2 random enemies
4. some kind of possibilities to make beneficials non removable
5. change shield passive so that more than one character cannot be frozen/taunted/stunned
6. Some possibilities for accuracy debuff on whole enemy team
EDIT: i bet most of them have alsso the sentonel soulless demon on defense... but haven't checked that...
